The Blue Lagoon an internationally popular recreational and therapeutic pool of deliciously warm and mineral rich geothermal water carved out of the Svartsengi lava field.

The tectonicallly supercharged brine flows from Svartsengi power plant, and its beutifaul blue color comes from light refracting micro-organisms that thrive in this unusual ecosystem.
